Frequent Questions
If you have questions about funeral arrangements, services, or pre-planning, we are here to provide answers and guidance. Click on the questions below to learn more about how we can assist you during this difficult time.

What should I do first when a loved one passes away?
If the death occurs at home or unexpectedly, contact emergency services first. If it occurs in a hospital or care facility, staff there will guide you through the next steps. When you're ready, call us, and we'll take care of everything else, including transportation and paperwork. You don't need to have any plans in place before calling.
Can we still have a service if we choose cremation?
Absolutely. Many families hold a full visitation, memorial service, or celebration of life even when choosing cremation. The service can take place before or after cremation, at our facility, a place of worship, or a meaningful location of your choosing. We'll help you design something that honors who your loved one was.
How long do we have to make arrangements?
Most families arrange services within 3–7 days, though this varies based on personal, cultural, and logistical factors. We'll work with your timeline. If family members need to travel from out of town, we can accommodate a longer window. There's no pressure to rush; our role is to support you at your pace.
How much does a funeral cost?
Costs vary depending on the services, merchandise, and cemetery fees involved. We're required by law to provide a General Price List, which we're happy to share at any time, by phone, in person, or by e-mail. We believe in transparent, honest pricing with no surprises. Our team will walk you through every cost before you make any decisions.
Does life insurance cover funeral expenses?
In many cases, yes. We can help you assign a life insurance policy directly to us to cover costs, meaning you won't need to pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement. Bring any policy documents when you meet with us, and we'll help you understand your options.
Why would I pre-plan my own funeral?
Pre-planning is one of the most thoughtful gifts you can give your family. It removes the burden of difficult decisions during an already painful time, ensures your wishes are honored, and can lock in today's prices for future services. Many people find it brings real peace of mind, not just for themselves but also for those they love.
Is pre-planning the same as pre-paying?
Not necessarily. You can document your wishes without any financial commitment; simply having your preferences on record is a meaningful step. Pre-paying, or "pre-funding," is an optional step that freezes costs and can be set up through a trust or insurance product. We'll explain the difference and help you choose what makes sense for your situation.
What if I move or change my mind after pre-planning?
Pre-plans are generally portable and flexible. If you relocate, most pre-funded plans can be transferred to a funeral home in your new area. You can also update your wishes at any time. We'll make sure you understand the terms of any plan before you commit to anything.
