Silvia Luna Wright

May 17, 1959 — April 1, 2019

God blessed Prisciliano and Tersea Luna with an amazing daughter, Silvia Luna on May 17, 1959.  On April 1, 2019 God called Silvia Luna Wright home.  She was born in San Jose de Raices, Neveo Leon, Mexico.

As a young child Silvia helped her Dad, a baker, by delivering Mexican bread in their village. In Mexico she was always in the top of her class.   In 1972 Silvia and her family moved to the United States.  She entered school here with elementary English skills but graduated from Holbrook High School in 1978 with honors. In 1979 a young Air Force sergeant, David Wright, was assigned to the Holbrook Radar Site.  Dave met Silvia at the Holbrook First Assembly of God church.  He was so captivated with this intriguing Mexican beauty that he could not live without her. They married on November 29, 1980.  They moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where her husband, Dave, went to college at North Central Bible College.  While there, Silvia worked at Abbott Northwestern hospital in the accounting department.  In 1986 Silvia and Dave moved back to Holbrook. Silvia worked at the Holbrook High School, Navajo County, N.A.V.I.T., and NPC.  She retired in November of 2017.  Even though she was very quiet and shy she made a number of lifelong friends at her different work places.  Silvia’s talents at craftwork were remarkable.  She loved to bless others with some of her handmade crafts.  She was a long-time member of the First Assembly of God in Holbrook where she served for over 20 years as the church bookkeeper.

Silvia was a devoted Mother to her one and only daughter Katherine as well as an adoring wife of her husband, David.  She leaves behind an amazing legacy and many relatives.  Her immediate family is her loving husband, David; her daughter, Katherine (Reuben); her Mother and Father Tersea and Prisciliano Luna; sisters, Sally O’Dell (Mark O’Dell), Tersea Luna, Noemi Luna, and Angel Luna(Wilma Luna). Her brothers Luis and Roberto (Beto) excitedly greet her as she entered heaven as they had passed away before Silvia.  She is greatly missed.

A public visitation will be held at 10:00, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Holbrook First Assembly of God, 500 Mission Lane, Holbrook, AZ. The Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 A.M at the same location.
