Maria Cleo Acosta

August 27, 1957 — April 16, 2019

Maria Cleo Acosta, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, godmother and friend, passed away April 16, 2019, blessed in peace and lots of love. Maria will forever be loved and missed by those who were blessed by her presence and that lovely smile she never forgot to carry.

Maria was born on August 27, 1957 in Alamosa, Colorado. She later moved to Whiteriver, Arizona & graduated from Alchesay High school, Class of 1975. She then moved back to Colorado and married and had children. Later grandchildren & great grandchildren came into the picture that caused lots of grey hairs but kept her pushing forward. Maria was kind & loving, helping her own and the community. She then became a para professional for Adams 14 school district for many years & then was forced into early retirement. She was a devoted church member at Our Lady Mother of the Church. She was always helping out the church in any way she could. Her last wish was to come back home to Arizona to be with her family with blessings from her family in Colorado. She loved her own very much and made sure everyone knew it every day.

She is survived by her husband, Pedro H. Acosta; mother, Eledia Chavez; siblings, Lee (Evelyn) Kane, Carol (May) Brooks, Veronica Wilson, & Jose Samuel Chavez; daughters,

Sonya (Casimiro) Vazquez & Lorena Acosta; grandchildren, Desaray Vazquez, Esmeralda Vazquez, Casimiro Vazquez Jr, Yrazema Acosta, Pedro Acosta, & Emmanuel Jimenez.

She was preceded in death by father, Jose Abraham Chavez & brother, Arnold Chavez.
