Lafe Edward "Eddie" Hall

August 10, 1949 — December 7, 2020

Lafe Edward “Eddie” Hall passed away December 7, 2020 at his home in Show Low, surrounded by his loving and devoted family. This was not his first rodeo, but his last ride was a fight with cancer.  He was 71.

Eddie was born, the oldest of 6 children on August 10, 1949 in McNary, Az to Lafe Hall Jr. and Estelle Pettyjohn Hall.  He attended grade school in Show Low and High School in Snowflake.

He met and married Judy Foster on June 17, 1966. They were sealed in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on May 15th, 1975, they shared 54 loving years together and were never apart. Judy was the love of his life.

Eddie loved his mountain home, and spent endless hours hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and never passed up an opportunity to be in nature and teach his kids/grandkids what it meant to be a true outdoorsman. Eddie’s Elk jerky was the very best there was!

He was a member of the very first little league team in Show Low. The memorial statues at the Little League park are a dedication to that first team, Eddie is the catcher and his brother George is the pitcher.

Bullriding was one of his many talents and passions. He was a natural, young and old were amazed at his ability and followed him around the rodeos to learn all they could from him.  Not all heroes wear capes, some wear Cowboy hats and chaps. He loved Team Roping and all the camaraderie, which kept him close to his Cowboy roots.

He also played fast-pitch softball with his brothers and close friends, travelling all around the State, winning tournaments and trophies all along the way. He spent many years coaching his kids and grandkids’ baseball and softball teams. Pitching and catching, hitting and stealing. He made sure they all understood, “never be afraid to put one in the ear hole”.

Eddie went to work at a young age, never shirking his responsibilities, sometimes working three jobs at the same time to provide for his family.

He was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities from the Bishopric to his favorite, the nursery. He spent many years leading and teaching in the Scouting program.

Eddie’s family was his #1 priority. He was a loving and devoted father to 5 children.  He taught them to work hard, be responsible and always stand for what is right.

Eddie was preceded in death by his son, Lafe Edward Hall Jr. “Little Eddie”; his parents, Lafe Hall Jr & Estelle Hall; and his sister Becky Hall Leech.

He is survived by, his devoted wife, Judy. His children: Anita Cheleste “Chelly” Hall (Shannon Stevens), Renea Mischel Isaacs (Travis), Dolan Tyler Hall, Anath Hall, Bryan Daryl Hall (Stephanie); 11 Grandchildren: Clay Hoaglin, Cheyenne Hoaglin, Chandler Hoaglin, Makenzie Bryant (Jacob), Tanner Isaacs, Jacob Hall (Karina), Ammon Hall, Anika Hall, Karli Hall, Jarom Hall, Bailee Hall; 1 great-grandson, Kallen Hall and 1 great-grandson on the way; his brothers, George (Dawn), Kenneth (Skeeter), Steve (Cindi), Dale (Jacque), and many nieces, nephews and extended family that he loved dearly.

He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
