Yvette Vice

July 6, 1962 — August 2, 2021

Yvette Vice, resident of Pinetop Arizona passed away on August 2, 2021 in Showlow Arizona.

She was born in Northridge, California on July 6, 1962 to Ray Navarrette and Joann Beth Kane.  She was preceded in death by her natural father Ray Navarette and later, by her step-father Frank W. Spore, her older sister Naomi Navarrette, and her older brother Quentin Navarrette.

Yvette is survived by her husband Eugene Vice, mother Joann B. Kane, her brother Lionel Navarrette, her daughter Rebecca A Underwood; and eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Yvette grew up in Bakersfield California and later moved to Sylmar California in the San Fernando Valley area where she graduated from Sylmar High School.  After graduation she moved back to Bakersfield to live with her dad.  Not too long after moving back to her home, she and her dad backpacked the entire Pacific Crest Trail, starting from their home, all the way to the Canadian border approximately two thousand miles.  From there they hitchhiked up to Alaska, where they eventually arrived in Anchorage.  Yvette’s father returned home and left Yvette there to make her own way, which she knew how to do.   She got a job at the Skippers Seafood restaurant and later completed her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant).

Yvette met her husband Eugene Vice, while working as a CNA in Anchorage Alaska.

She moved to Pinetop in 2005 where she took care of her Step-father until he passed on. After her step-father passed away, she started caring for her Uncle Lloyd who was living in Pinetop.

Yvette served in numerous callings as a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Some of her callings included Compassionate Care Coordinator for the Relief Society organization and Primary teacher.  She also served in the Pinetop-Lakeside area as a hospice Volunteer.  Her family came first in her life as illustrated by the number of people she cared for throughout her lifetime.

A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday August 10th at the Owens Livingston Mortuary.  A memorial service in commemoration of her life will be held on Saturday August 14th, starting at 10 A.M.at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints at 4075 Buck Springs Road in Pinetop.  A luncheon for family and friends will be held immediately after the memorial service.
