William Grant Solomon

William (Bill) Grant Solomon, 81, of Shumway, Arizona passed away peacefully, with his wife and children by his side, on November 1, 2023.

William was born August 4th, 1942, in Snowflake, Arizona to Elbert Drew and Gertrude Solomon. He was the fourth of six children. He grew up on the Solomon Ranch and graduated from Snowflake High School in 1960. He worked his way through college and graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many different capacities throughout his life. The service that brought him the most joy was serving for 9 years in three different temples in Arizona, Mesa, Gilbert and Snowflake.

William enjoyed spending time outdoors on his ranch, whether it be working with his hands, or riding his 4-wheeler, checking on his cows.

He will be forever remembered as a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He always put God first, his family second, and his country third.

William is survived by his wife, Kathryn, and five children: Shamron, Ryan, Derek, Karlee (Brandon), and Wilson; as well as six grandchildren: Bella, Matix, Crew, Marley, Scarlett, and Ivy. His four siblings also survive him: Bert, Gloria, Sandy, and Pat.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jan, and parents Elbert and Gertrude Solomon.

There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, November 11th, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Love Lake Chapel, located at 707 E Love Lake Road, Taylor, Arizona. A private family viewing will be held prior to the funeral.

Burial will follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery.
