Obituary for Wanger Slick
May 20, 1933 - November 1, 2025
Wanger Slick, 92, of Whiteriver, Arizona, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 20, 1933, in San Carlos, Arizona, Wanger lived a long and fulfilling life rooted in hard work, family, and a deep love for the outdoors. He often shared fond memories of his early years picking cotton in Bowie, Arizona-a time that shaped his strong work ethic and humble spirit.
Over the years, Wanger worked in the asbestos mines and took great pride in his labor. A true craftsman, he built fences, a rock wall with his bare hands, and countless other projects that stand as lasting testaments to his dedication and perseverance.
Wanger loved fishing, hiking, and spending time outdoors, but his greatest joy came from being with his family. He was an excellent cook who delighted in preparing meals and teaching his children and grandchildren how to cook-always with patience, laughter, and love.
He was a devoted provider whose strength and kindness guided generations. Wanger's legacy lives on through his many family members and friends.
Wanger will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his love for nature, and the deep devotion he showed to his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit and lessons will continue to live on through those who loved him most.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the East Fork Lutheran Church from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. with the funeral services to immediately follow. Committal services will follow in the Mission View Cemetery.
