Vivian Ann Williams

March 6, 1939 — November 12, 2021

On November 12, 2021 Vivian Ann Williams went home to be with Jesus, at the age of 82, surrounded by family and friends. Vivian was a "Woman of God", always serving her Savior. Vivian was born March 6, 1939 in Canyon Day. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eulalia Cosay and her loving children, David, Michael, Frankie and Lucinda Williams. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Clawson, Mary E. Mehl and son Jim Felix. Vivian leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

Vivian lived in Whiteriver most of her life. She was baptized in the Whiteriver Lutheran Church at the age of 13. She was named "Lumberjack Princess" in a beauty contest in 1955 in Flagstaff, AZ. She attended Canyon Day day school, Theodore Roosevelt School, Whiteriver Northland Pioneer College and Lamson Business College in Phoenix.

She married her husband, Luke Williams February 13, 1963. They were married for 58 loving years. They had seven children.

Vivian started her career in 1962. Working in the Tribal Business Office, she worked for 6 Tribal Chairmen and 1 Chairwoman, Gwendena Gatewood. Vivian worked as Payroll Clerk, Accounts payable clerk, Bookkeeper, Health Benefits, Tribal Court as a Clerk, File Clerk, Assistant Personnel Director, Director of Personnel, Director of Benefits, WMA Supermarket, Pay Clerk, and Payroll Director of Benefits. She worked until her retirement in 1993 and then went back to work from 2000 to 2014. She retired again for the send time as a Tribal Court recorder.

Vivian loved to cook and sew. She gifted many people with her famous aprons, bags, etc. She loved to travel. Her travels extended all the way to Jerusalem, Canada and Hawaii.

She was Co-Pastor at Seven Mile Miracle Church for 25 years and was Co-Pastor at the Whiteriver Miracle Church. She loved listening to gospel music. Vivian touched many people on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation with her prayers and encouragements.

We will be celebrating her life Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Canyon Day Miracle Church with a viewing from 7:00-10:00 a.m. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 am and burial will follow at the Canyon Day Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hospice Compassus for their loving care of Vivian and also Owens Livingston Mortuary.
