It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Thomas Verrington Lord of Show Low, Arizona who passed away on September 29, 2025, at the age of 83.
Thomas served in the Navy during Vietnam returning to the Tucson area and later relocating to Show Low where he spent much of his life drilling wells, maintaining windmills and later starting his own companies for well drilling and local water companies. He enjoyed learning to fly and owning his own plane. He is fondly remembered for being "Grandpa Airlines", where he would fly to the valley and pick up his granddaughters and fly them back for time in Show Low with Grandma. He loved restoring vintage automobiles along with hit and miss engines. He loved showing them off at local fairs and shows.
He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Margaret Lord; brothers, George Lord and Michael Lord and sister, Linda Bonomi, all of Tucson; four children: Jennifer Clawson, Daniel Lord, Jason Lord and Teresa Lord; stepdaughters,Tammie Vershum, Teresa Lunsford and Patricia Bardo; and fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday October 10, 2025, at Owens Livingston Mortuary,320 N. 9th St., in Show Low, Arizona at 10:00 am, followed by burial at Show Low Cemetery at noon with military honors. A reception will be held at the VFW Post 9907 in Show Low for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the VFW Post 9907 in Show Low.
