Standifird "Stan" Rowe Freeman passed peacefully on September 4, 2025 in Snowflake, Arizona, at the age of 87. Born January 3, 1938 in Snowflake, Arizona to Rial and Faun (Standifird) Freeman.
Stan was raised in Snowflake, Arizona and graduated from Snowflake High School. He went on to have a career and retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in Winslow, Arizona, where he raised his children.
After retiring from the railroad, he had a hobby of working on and restoring tractors with his good friend. They did this for many years and had a great time searching for parts and going to auctions.
Stan is survived by his wife Barbara Freeman; children, Stephanie (John) Hunt, Debi (Dean) Shaffer, Darla Freeman, Elizabeth (Mike) Hughes; stepchildren that he loved every bit as much as his very own, Ray, Rena, Ryan, Ranona, Renae, Loy and Lorette; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by Deanna Freeman, Ruth Ann Freeman, his son, John Freeman, his siblings, George "Bud", Jennine, Dixie, Shirley, Marilyn and Sally; and parents Rial and Faun Freeman.
Stan was an unforgettable patriarch of our family with a quick wit and amazing sense of humor that we all have appeared to inherit. Always available with advice to put things into perspective by starting the sentence with "The thing about it is...."
He was truly loved and will forever be deeply missed.
The funeral service will be held as follows: October 11, 2025, 11:00 am, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1501 N Kinsley Ave, Winslow, Arizona, with lunch to follow at the church.
