Sherry Maddux

Sherry Lynne Maddux was born April 25, 1950, in Springfield, Missouri, to Lola Mae and Dale Maddux.

She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1968 and went on to earn her nursing degree from Penn Valley in Kansas City in 1977. Nursing became her Life's calling, and over the years she served with compassion and strength as a Labor and Delivery nurse, Emergency Department nurse, nursing instructor, and Director of nursing-shaping countless lives and inspiring future generations of caregivers.

Sherry also shared her creativity through floral design and art. She loved nature, enjoyed painting and was a talented baker. One of her greatest joys was her love for cats.

Above all, Sherry cherished her family and took great pride in the legacy she built.

Sherry passed away on January 4, 2026, in Show Low, Arizona, surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her children: Amy Bruns (Jeff), Stephanie Thomas (Troy), Lori McDonnell (John), Valerie Call (David), Jeremy Thomas (Summer), and Heather Graham (Jimmy); her brothers Russell Hill (Ann) and John Maddux (Bridgett); her aunt, Twyla Taylor (Rick); and her stepmother Wanda Maddux; and 15 grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Pioneer Chapel in Snowflake, Arizona.
