Sharon "Sheri" Lee Buell

d. May 14, 2023

Surrounded by family, Sharon Lee “Sheri” Schow Buell passed away peacefully following a brief illness, on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Sheri was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Alvin and Leone (Holt) Schow.

As a child, she grew up in Idaho and that is where she developed her love for nature. She attended high school in Twin Falls, Idaho. Later, Sheri graduated from Brigham Young University and became a medical lab technician. She made her home and raised her family in Gilbert, Arizona on a small farm. She loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and working in her garden. She was very active and spent much of her time at the gym, library, church and enjoyed walking her beloved dog, Sage, and, as a result, she made many friends in her neighborhood.

Sheri was selfless and caring, a person people would go to for advice because she never judged and always had a thoughtful, helpful and humble perspective to share. She drew her family together, including her grandchildren, who loved spending time with her. Those of us fortunate enough to have been a part of her life will never forget how, every day, she made the world a better place. She was well known for her always positive and friendly outlook on life. Sheri was a joy to be around.

Sheri was a devoted mother to her seven children, a wonderful grandmother to her 27 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was the kind of person that was a friend to everyone she met. She was loving and compassionate. Sheri was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) where she held many positions in the church and loved to share her faith with others. She also enjoyed working in the Gilbert Temple of the Church.

She is survived by her children: Edward (Julia) Ricks, Del (Kelly) Ricks, Carolyn (Jim) Argyle, Steven (Randi) Buell, Brian (Marie) Buell, Kevin (Arabeth) Buell; sisters: Luana Shumway, Marilyn Dredge, Kathy Reid; and brother, David Schow. Along with her parents, Sheri was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Buell; and her daughter, Tonya Buell.

Everyone is invited to attend her funeral service which will begin 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at the Highland Groves Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 555 S. Recker Road in Gilbert, Arizona where the funeral service will be preceded by the viewing which will begin at 9:00 A.M.
