Sandi Norman Honyaoma, 81, shed her Earthly body on March 11, 2022. She began this life in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 14, 1941, as Sandra Lee Nolte, daughter of Robert J. Nolte and Cornelia (Connie) Nolte.
Sandi's early years in Cincinnati, and later Madison, Indiana were spent in the company of Nuns as she attended all 12 years of her schooling under the tutelage of the Roman Catholic church. She began singing in the choir at church and spent 4 years in Chorus at Shawe Memorial High School, along with enjoying the drama department. This led to her role as Shirley Mclain's double in the film, "Some Came Running" also starring Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, filmed in Madison in 1958.
At 18 Sandi left the tiny town of Madison and headed back to Cincinnati, began working, and met her first husband, Don Norman. They married in 1962. 10 years later they took a trip to the Arizona desert that reshaped her life.
After moving to Arizona she began her career as a Real Estate Broker and became immersed and completely devoted to Arizona Native American culture and arts. In 2010 she married one of the best friends she ever had, Hilton Honyaoma, and lived happily ever after.
Sandi's other loves; the theater, desert flowers, advocacy work, and her beloved Redbird family.
Sandi is survived by her husband, Hilton; daughter, Hyla Burleson; sons, Stephen and Bryan Norman; granddaughters, Leila, Cassandra, and Peyton; grandson, Nathan; great-grandsons, Tristan and Rhett.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father and a brother, Denise Nolte.
A viewing will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Owens Livingston Mortuary~Heritage Chapel, 84 E. 19th S., Snowflake, Arizona. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
