Ruthann MacDonald

December 14, 1945 — April 15, 2022

On Friday, April 15, 2022, Ruthann MacDonald passed away at her home in Show Low, AZ at the age of 76.

Ruthann was born December 14, 1945 to Bill and Lucy Watts in Carthage, Missouri.  In 1959, just as she was entering high school, and much to her dismay, the Watts family ventured west in a move to Arizona.  It wasn't long though before she met and married Don MacDonald with whom she shared 43 years of marriage before his passing.  Together, they raised two sons.

After raising their family in Arizona, Ruthann and Don moved to Missouri where they continued to enjoy camping and fishing trips.

She will be remembered by all who knew her as a kind and compassionate spirit who enjoyed reading, traveling, music and collecting antiques.  However, Ruthann was most happy when she was planning for, shopping for and cooking a big meal for a gathering of family and friends.

Ruthann was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles for more than 14 years.

In 2018, Ruthann moved back to Arizona to be closer to family, settling in Show Low.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two grandsons, Cliff and Brody.

Ruthann is survived by her sons:  Rick MacDonald (Teresa) of Show Low, AZ and Donnie MacDonald (Donnetta) of Golden, Colorado.  Also, her brother, John Watts (Robin) of Springfield, Missouri and sister, Cindy Slick of Scottsdale, Arizona.  She also leaves behind granddaughters, Ashlee, Paula and Sora and grandson Sidney as well as step-granddaughter, Jessica in addition to 7 great and step-grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be held in a few months to remember and celebrate Ruthann's life.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
