Natalie Elkins Shumway

Natalie Ruth Elkins Shumway, age 27, of Snowflake, Arizona, passed away March 23, 2021 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born October 27, 1993 to Billy and Sherri Elkins in Show Low, Arizona.

Natalie spent her youth in Snowflake, playing sports and working with show lambs. After graduating from Snowflake High School, she continued her education at Mesa Community College where she played Collegiate Volleyball. She earned a degree from Northern Arizona University, focusing her studies in speech therapy. Natalie was employed with St. Johns Unified School District as a speech-language pathologist assistant and loved the children she worked with. She also loved coaching the Junior Varsity Volleyball team for Snowflake High School. Natalie touched the lives of all she came in contact with; her calming effect and her genuine love for all will be deeply missed.

She met the love of her life, Jake Shumway, in elementary school. Their marriage was solemnized in the Snowflake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on December 13, 2014. Her love for Jake and her children is immeasurable.

Natalie is survived by her husband, Jake Reed Shumway; her children Nash Reed Shumway and Brooklyn Ruth Shumway.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Centennial LDS Stake Center, 9th South 2nd West, Snowflake, Arizona. Burial will follow in the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery. There will be a viewing Thursday, April 1st, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday morning from 9:00-9:45 at the same location.
