Mel is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra; his daughter, Ronnie (Daniel) Sogeke; step-daughter, Sunny Elizabeth Taylor; step-sons, Jason (Niki) Hammond and Roy (Mindy) Evensen. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great-grandfather to four. His family was his greatest joy and source of pride.

He was preceded in death by his son, Robert P. Coleman, whose memory remained close to Mel's heart.

Mel's warmth, creativity, and enduring love for his family and the arts will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Mel's life will be held Saturday, March 14th, at 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 201 E Whipple St, Show Low, AZ 85901.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to a local arts organization in his honor.
