McCoy Loas, of Canyon Day, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on March 10, 1937, in Canyon Day, McCoy lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and deep faith.
From a young age, McCoy took on responsibilities beyond his years and went on to dedicate 40 years of service as a lumber grader for Fort Apache Timber Company. His commitment and work ethic were deeply respected in the community.
After retirement, McCoy embraced a slower pace of life, finding joy in simple pleasures. He loved driving around the area, caring for his yard with great pride, and spending time outdoors, especially near the river. A gifted handyman, McCoy enjoyed working with tools, always building or fixing things around the house and on his truck. His craftsmanship was matched by his remarkable penmanship.
In his younger years, McCoy expressed his love of music by playing the guitar and singing in his church band. His strong faith remained a cornerstone throughout his life, and he was known for his frequent prayers and spiritual strength.
McCoy was a generous and kind-hearted man, always willing to help others. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Loas, and his children, Collett Loas and Roger Loas.
He is survived by his cherished granddaughter, Kadence Loas; his brothers Earl Loas Sr. and Wesley Loas; and extended family members Aniyah Thomas, Jeweliyet Thomas, and Devin Lupe. His legacy of hard work, faith, and love lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.
