Mary Barry

May 17, 1937 — April 9, 2025

Mary Jane Barry, born on May 17, 1937, in North Charleroi, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025. A lifelong New Yorker by heart and upbringing, Mary Jane embraced both the fast pace of the city and the quiet serenity of the Arizona mountains, where she found joy in the fresh air and slower pace of small-town life.

Mary Jane's greatest pride and purpose in life was caring for her family. She lived selflessly, always putting others before herself with a warm heart and steady hands. She nurtured those around her with love, kindness, and of course-her cooking. A passionate cook with a special love for Italian cuisine, she was especially known for her legendary meatballs. Her family will continue to honor her memory by sharing and preparing her cherished recipe for generations to come. Mary enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Elvis Presley any chance she had.

Mary Jane is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Reidhead and Karen Laakman; her adoring grandchildren Jessica Downes, Kimberly Downes, Jennifer Reidhead, Matthew Reidhead, Stefanie Laakman, and Lucas Mickle; 14 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, devotion, and delicious food lives on through each of them.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as the heart of her family.

A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Rita's Catholic Church on Saturday, May 23rd at 11am. The graveside service will follow immediately after at Show Low Cemetery.
