Lucy Coen

Lucy Lee Coen (Arnette), 95, of Show Low, Arizona passed away in her home on September 9, 2025. She was born August 27, 1930 in Superior, Arizona to Alex and Lupe Arnette. She was the youngest of seven children and attended Superior Elementary and high School. In 1948 she attended Arizona State College where she met the love of her life, Kenneth Coen. They were married on September 2, 1950 and remained married for the next 46 years until his passing in 1996. The couple settled in Tempe, Arizona and raised six children

Lucy graduated from ASU in 1969 with a degree in education. She taught school for the next 20 years at Webster Elementary in Mesa, Arizona before retiring to Show Low, Arizona. In retirement, Lucy was active at St. Rita's Catholic Church. After Kens passing, Lucy and her family started the Annual KVC memorial golf tournament which was instrumental in founding the White Mountain Hospice Foundation.

Lucy is survived by her six children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Show Low. Concluding Services and Interment were held at the Show Low Cemetery.
