Lonnie Joe Lopez, of Taylor, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 26, 2023 at Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, surrounded by his loving family. He was 59 years old. He was born May 14, 1963 in Ontario, Oregon to Consuelo "Connie" Olvera Lopez and Pedro "Pete" Lopez.
Lonnie married the love of his life, Ronda Bateman, on November 7, 1981 in Weiser, Idaho. They moved to Taylor, Arizona in 1986, where they raised their six children. He worked at Ed's Market, where he first found his passion as a meat butcher. But he would spend several years working for the papermill in Snowflake, before turning that passion into a career he loved.
Lonnie loved sports, old vehicles, music, and was an avid collector. He took pride in everything he did and put his whole heart into it, but nothing made him more proud than his family.
Survivors include his parents; his beloved wife, Ronda; children, Ricky Joe Lopez (Nikole), Tyson Christopher Lopez (Casie), Ronny Timothy Lopez (Mandy), Shandy Rae Fish (Colton), Christina Laree Reidhead (Jordan), and Micheal Andrew Lopez (Johanna); 18 grandchildren, Grayson, Brixton, Quinn, Tryton, Tylee, Treygon, Jax, Cash, Tess, Trigger, Layton, Haylin, Covy, Stax, Taft, Ripp, Gunner, and Scarlett; sisters, Lorraine Kautz (Karl), Virginia Lopez, JoAnn Miller (JT); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Viewing will be held Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Owens Livingston Mortuary ~ Heritage Chapel, 84 E. 19 S., Snowflake, Arizona. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Silver Creek Stake Center, 300 W. Willow Lane, Taylor, Arizona. A private family viewing will be held one-hour prior.
Burial will follow in the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery.
