Leon Grant, known to many as "Amo," was born November 7, 1965 and passed away on September 3, 2026. Leon was born to his parents, Patrick and Katherine (Fall) Grant. Leon attended Alchesay High School.

Leon married his beloved wife, Dollie (Burdette) Grant, on November 2, 1990. Leon and Dollie were blessed with a son, Matthew, and grandchildren, Patrick, Anjali, Skyler, and
Koleson Grant.

Leon was a sports fan who loved his teams - the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Cowboys. He collected sports souvenirs - Bobble Heads, T-shirts, Caps, Sweaters, and even playing cards. In his pastime, Leon liked to walk the trails around his home to get wherever he needed to go. He loved being outdoors, looking for wild tea in the mountains, and tending to his yard.

Leon's family was his treasure. His wife, son, and grandchildren were the drive that made him look at the good in life, no matter what obstacles came his way. His grandchildren were his heart - whatever they needed, he went above and beyond to meet that need.

Leon always saw the good in people. He greeted everyone with kindness and a smile, even strangers. If Leon knew you, he would listen to you, make sure you were okay, and leave you with a joke or a laugh.

Leon is survived by his son, Matthew; grandchildren, Patrick, Anjali, Skyler, and Koleson Grant; sisters, Bernaline (Grant) Minjarez and Nisa (Grant) Kessay; and brother, Anthony Grant.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 17, 2026, at East Fork Lutheran Church, officiated by David Wietzke.

Public viewing will be from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Canyon Day Cemetery.

A luncheon will follow the burial at the Grant family home in Fort Apache.
