Joe Justman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Charles Justman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who left us peacefully at home in Holbrook, Arizona, on June 6, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on June 20, 1937, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Joseph's life is a testament to dedication, love, and resilience.

Joseph was a cherished partner to his wife, Barbara Justman, with whom he shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised five sons: Joe, Bill, Richard, Kent, and Ron, who carry forward his legacy. Joseph's love also extended to his 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by his warmth, wisdom, and engaging spirit.

His professional journey began in 1956 with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, where he dedicated 35 years of his life before transferring to the Arizona Department of Transportation in Holbrook, where he worked diligently for another 30 years until his retirement in 1992. After hanging up his work boots, Joseph found joy tinkering with computers and meticulously restoring old wind-up clocks, hobbies that illustrated his curious mind and love for craftsmanship.

Joseph is preceded in death by his daughter, Dianne, his mother, Lillian, and his father, Roy, but he leaves behind a family who remembers him with great affection and gratitude.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a graveside service at the Holbrook Cemetery on June 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Following the service, everyone is warmly welcomed to a luncheon at Peace Lutheran Church, where we will gather to celebrate Joseph's remarkable life and share cherished memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joseph's memory, ensuring his legacy of love continues to help others.
