Jimmy Ray Stewart

April 26, 1949 - September 18, 2026

Jimmy passed away at home after a long illness, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Mesa, Arizona to Marion Everett and Beulah (Hancock) Stewart. He grew up in Mesa, where he attended school, and worked for Johnson Stewart.

Jimmy moved to Lordsburg in 1989, when the family purchased the WD Ranch just north of Lordsburg. Jimmy met Marianne (Mimi) in 1994 and they were married in November, 1995. They lived and worked on the ranch until his passing.

Jimmy was very active in the Hidalgo County-Lordsburg Community, he cooked for the Cattlegrower's beef booth for 15 years, served on the Library Board for 20 years and the Public Lands Advisory Council for 20 plus years.

Jimmy was a sportsman, being outdoors, riding and tending to his cattle. He enjoyed attending school activities and supported and donated to many different community needs throughout the years.

He is preceded in death by his son, Brian Arthur, both parents Everett and Beulah. He is survived by his wife, Marianne (Mimi), sons Doyle Lee Stewart, John Wesley and Jason Edward Samuel, 10 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Graveside will be held at Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor, Arizona on October 2, 2026, and a celebration of life will be held in Lordsburg at a later date.
