Janice Sneddon

January 30, 1952 — November 20, 2025

Janice Marie Sneddon, a beloved wife, devoted family member, and passionate dog parent, passed away peacefully at her home in Vernon, Arizona, on November 20, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on January 30, 1952, in Berkeley, California, Janice lived a life filled with love, adventure, and compassion.

Janice focused her studies in the sciences, and having earned her Bachelor's Degree, embarked on a fulfilling career in the medical field as a medical technologist. Her dedication to her profession was matched only by her love for her family and friends.

In life, Janice cherished exploring the great outdoors with her devoted husband, Richard Sneddon. Together, they found joy in camping under the stars and traversing the scenic landscapes of national parks. One of her most cherished memories was sitting quietly with Richard by the water at Glacier National Park, where they watched in awe as beavers diligently built their dam, a testament to the beauty of nature that she embraced.

Jan's warmth extended beyond her love for adventure; it radiated through her vibrant spirit as an enthusiastic card player. Many will fondly remember her fierce competitiveness at the card table, particularly during spirited games of spades, a traditionstarted in her family. Her skills in the game earned her the affectionate moniker of a "vicious player," a title she wore with pride, with a twinkle in her eye.

Janice's home was always filled with the love of her four-legged companions. Over the years he and Rick rescued two German Shepherds, Max and Heidi, and joyfully adopted two additional dogs, Brownie and Heather, affectionately known as "Heinz 57s."  Their presence brought immeasurable joy to her life, and she treated them as treasured members of the family.

Janice is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Rick; two brothers, Karl and Greg; and her sister, Barbara.

She is pre-deceased by her father, Harvey Dunkle; her mother, Carol Cole; andher brother Steve.  Each cherished memory and moment shared with Janice will be forever etched in the hearts of those who knew her.

In honor of Janice's beautiful and vibrant life, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Janice's spirit will live on in the lives she touched, the trails she walked, and the laughter that echoes in the hearts of those who dearly loved her. May she rest in peace, forever in the hearts of family and friends.

Rick extends great appreciation to  Audrey and the team at Angel Wings Assisted Living in Vernon, as well as Savior Hospice and her Nurse Case Manager, Casey.
