Janice Sue (Cole) Asberry, 75, of Miami, Arizona, passed away on April 27, 2026. Sue was born in Miami on September 16, 1949, to Marvin Martel Cole and Nola Manone (Falls) Cole. She grew up in Copper Glance and Moonshine Hill. She graduated from Miami High School in 1967. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Business from the University of Phoenix. She worked at the Gila County recorder's office and the child support enforcement office for 23 years, and as an instructor at Gila County Community College.
Following her accomplished career, Sue is lovingly remembered by her spouse, Grover Wayne Asberry; her daughter, Christa Marie (Asberry) England (Steven); and her grandkids, Danessa Nelson, Camberley Harper (Britain), and Jared England. Her great-grandchildren, Vincent and William, brought her great happiness, and she cherished the anticipation of her first great-granddaughter. The new baby will be wrapped in her enduring love through the blankets she lovingly crocheted. Sue's memory remains alive in every stitch. She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Beyond her family, Sue enjoyed the outdoors with Wayne, making fond memories during hunting and camping trips. She delighted in tending her plants and watching Wayne's vegetable garden thrive. Sue was renowned for her zucchini bread and strawberry jelly, and found joy in baking. She also kept busy crocheting and gifting handmade blankets to loved ones. Cherishing time with friends, she hosted dinners and played games. She loved spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with shopping sprees.
To honor Sue's memory, there will be a Celebration of Life on May 30, 2026, at the Waggin' Winery in Globe, Arizona, from 12-4pm. Family and friends are welcome throughout the afternoon.
In tribute to Sue, donations may be made in her name to the Children's Heart Foundation (www.childrensheartfoundation.org) to support her great-grandson William, who was born with a heart defect.
Sue leaves a space in the hearts of her loved ones that can never be filled and a legacy of love and kindness that will never be forgotten.
