James Edward Hardin, III

April 12, 1947 — August 10, 2025

Concho, Arizona

James Edward Hardin III (Jim, Jimmy), 78 of Concho, AZ, peacefully left his earthly home Sunday, August 10th at 8:24 P.M. Born April 12, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas to James Edward Hardin Jr. and Geneva Mae Hardin. 

James attended school in Casa Grande, AZ where he was raised. He joined the Army in 1965, where he served with the 101st Airborne Division. James fought many battles in Vietnam earning him many medals, including the Bronze Star with V Device for Heroism in the line of fire. He worked most of his life as a commercial electrician, eventually Lockheed Martin sent him to work at Minot AFB, where he met his present wife Evelyn (Evie). They spent many happy years together camping, riding in his jeep, and sitting with friends around campfires, laughing at all his silly jokes. 

Jim was a cowboy at heart and spent many happy days riding with his friends, mostly in Apache Junction, Arizona, where he lived until recently. He will be deeply missed by his wife (Evie) Evelyn Hardin and his many friends and family. He is survived by his son, James E. Hardin IV;  loving daughters, Brandi Osuna and Jolene Hardin; 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, Ron Hardin; sisters, Linda English, Joan Dunbar, Sherry Fiser; and mother Geneva Mae Hardin. He was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Hardin Jr. and loving grandson, James Edward Hardin V (J5). 

His full military service and celebration of life will be held at Camp Navajo Cemetery near Flagstaff on April 12, 2026 (time to be determined). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help cover the cost of memorial and burial services via Zelle @ hardevie56@gmail.com
