Obituary

Jack "JJ" Perpignani

Jack "JJ" Perpignani, age 80, passed away peacefully in Snowflake, Arizona, on September 30, 2026. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Lawrence and Margaret Perpignani on November 27, 1945. He grew up in Chicago and Tucson, where he attended school.

Jack enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966. Jack and his family moved back to Tucson in 1971. While in Tucson, he worked as a paramedic for Kords Ambulance , owned Pave Master Asphalt, and worked for Sun Tran.

He married Robyn Conwell on May 25, 1990. Jack, Robyn, and Vance moved to the White Mountains in 1995, where Jack began working for KTHQ Q Country 92.5 and hosted his morning show, "JJ in the Morning," for many years.

He was the track announcer for Thunder Raceway for decades and enjoyed being around the drivers and the families who attended the races. His famous phrase was, "We'll show you the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge."

Jack was truly a jack of all trades. Back in the late 1960s, he raced '57 Chevys at Santa Fe Speedway. He was a drummer, a boxing announcer, and helped run a successful bus ministry while attending New Testament Baptist Church in Tucson. He ran several restaurants and owned 5 Star Entertainment.

After retirement, you could see him around town selling cotton candy or kettle corn. He stayed busy all his life.

Jack will be truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Margaret Perpignani; his wife, Robyn; his sister, Lorraine Kendall; and his brother, Jim Perpignani.

He is survived by his sons, Jack, Scott, and Vance; his daughter, Michele Muklebust; and his sister, JoAnn Caselli. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Jack's memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 15, 2026, at Owens Livingston Mortuary, White Mountain Chapel, 320 North Ninth Street.

All are invited to attend JJ's memorial. To send flowers or plant a memorial tree in his memory, please visit the flower store.
