Our beloved Gregory Denton Green, 51 of Joseph City, Arizona, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 in Show Low Arizona. He was born September 13, 1971 in Oceanside California to Roland Green and Charlene (White) Green.
He was an eagle scout. He spent two years in Idaho serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After his mission, he attended Northern Arizona University and received a bachelor’s degree in history. He graduated with a Juris Doctorate from Washburn University in Topeka Kansas and served as a Public Defender for Navajo County.
Greg had a passion for the law, his religion and his family. Even from the time he was little, he loved a good debate which ultimately led to his decision to pursue a law degree. He was a skilled attorney who cared deeply for his clients and coworkers. He loved his Kansas City Chiefs and was always willing to let anyone and everyone know exactly what he thought about the latest game, opponent or referee. Greg loved good music and was sure to culture his younger siblings and children in the areas he felt were “classics”. He had a great sense of humor. He hated pineapple, bananas, and cilantro and was convinced that having to ingest one of those would ultimately be the cause of his death. Greg was always learning and striving to improve in his work, personal and spiritual life. He was quick with a smile and was always willing to help a friend out. As a devoted father, Greg had a deep love for his children, and they were always his priority. They were the driving force for everything he did. He took such pride in their accomplishments and they brought him his greatest joy.
Greg was a beloved father, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his son, Ethan Dewitt Green of Flagstaff, daughters Emma Jo Green, Rory Marie Green, and Bailey Marie Green of Winslow, parents Roland and Charlene Green of Coolidge, grandmother, Elsie White, of Coolidge, brothers Kevin Green (Tammy) of Tucson, Jeremy Green (Kerry) of Hawaii, sisters Kelly Ruland (Kevin) of Safford, Jennifer Larson (Bruce) of Chandler, Holly Pinedo (Mario) of Coolidge, and 13 nieces and nephews.
