Gary Leon White

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Gary Leon White passed peacefully at home on June 21, 2023. Having survived a major heart attack in 1999 and subsequent heart surgeries, we felt fortunate to have these last “extra” 24 years with him. He gracefully navigated the unexpected diagnosis of and battle with cancer the last month of his life.

Gary was a native of Arizona, born January 2, 1940 in Mesa, to Joseph Leon and Lula Ellsworth White. From a very young age Gary had a love and appreciation for his pioneer ancestors.  He spent his life studying the lives of his ancestors who helped settle Arizona along with the history of their time. Gary was an active and faithful member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life. He was married to Kathleen Patricia Croy for over 58 years. They were married and sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Gary’s family was the center and greatest importance of his life. His greatest joys were his marriage to Kathy and raising his children.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kathy, and children Marjorie (Scott) Wright, David (Neisha) White, Rebecca "Becky" (Karson) Donaldson, Merrill (Destiny) White, 20 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
