May 30, 1934 — November 27, 2023

Elmer Lee Magee, 89, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 27, 2023. He was born on May 30, 1934 in La Junta, Colorado, the son of Milton Wilmot and Viola Marie (Wood) Magee.

Some years after marrying Correnne, Elmer converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints. He was a faithful member and served in many capacities and enjoyed the opportunities to do so. He loved his family and the gospel. This year, Elmer and Correnne celebrated 70 years of marriage.

From a young age, Elmer learned the value of working hard. He was very proud of the work that he did early in his life and as a young man in the Phoenix area. He spent his earliest professional years surveying some of the Phoenix area's first freeway systems. He worked for SRP as a zanjero, later in life he moved his family to Taylor and was one of the first operators at the Coronado Generating Station in St. Johns, Arizona. He spent over 19 years in operations, maintenance, and retiring as a painter. After retirement from SRP, he was not a man to be stopped, he continued working as a corrections officer and with Alan Ritchey Trucking Company which he really enjoyed.

Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Correnne McCray Magee of Taylor, Arizona; his daughter, Pamela Jameston Bradford of Phoenix, Arizona; his son, Burke Magee (Kristin) of Queen Creek, Arizona; his sister, Mary Lois Stewart of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Viola; his brothers, Billy Joe, Arthur, and Milton; his sisters, Dorothy and Doris Ann; and his beloved children, Christine Denise, Terry Lee, and Tammy Kay.
