Eleanor Dozier Ferry

Eleanor Dozier Ferry was born on May 14, 1935, in Putnam, Alabama, to John and Lillie Mae Lewis Dozier. She passed away on March 24, 2026, at her home in Livingston, Texas.

Eleanor found great joy in playing dominoes, cards, and Scrabble, and was an avid reader of Janet Oakley and the "Little House on the Prairie" series. A long-time member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and a faithful servant of God. She loved worshiping and singing with the Liberty Bells and Mission Bells. Her legacy of service spanned over 75 years, during which she taught Sunday school and led WMU and Resort Ministries, as well as serving as a Mission Service Corp volunteer. She served as a member of the Executive Board of the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention. Eleanor made history by being the first female member of the Snowflake United School District School Board. She was also a generous supporter of missions and the construction of churches for Valley View and was well known for her hospitality and kind heart.

On September 26, 1959, she married the love of her life, Robert S. Ferry. Together they raised three children: Robert Sean Ferry and wife Kambra; Jeanne Michelle Sandberg and husband Terry; and Amy Elizabeth Agbonbhase and husband Julius. She is also survived by her brother, Gene Dozier and wife Sylvia, and sister, Gayle Dozier Watts. Eleanor was a beloved grandmother to Colton Sandberg, Robert Seth Ferry, Bethany Ferry, Caleb Ferry, Jonathan Ferry, Christine Agbonbhase, and Onose Agbonbhase.

She joins in heaven her parents, Johnie and Lillie Mae Dozier; her beloved husband, Robert S. Ferry; her brothers, James and Walter; and her sister, Virginia.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at R.V. Mike Ramsey Memorial Cemetery.
