Dorothy Ann Rogers, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 14,
2025, at the age of 86. She had dementia, heart issues, severe headaches, and back problems for
the last several years, her passing was a day to be celebrated by our mother and all that care
about her. She was born on November 9, 1938, in Ruby, AZ, spent several years in the East
Valley area and the last 25 years in Joseph City, AZ. (She lived in Joseph City a few times)
She had the entrepreneurial spirit about her, in her 30's her and our dad Newel Turley operated
the Pacific Motel and Turley's Mobil in Joseph City. She was instrumental in getting Aunt Esther
to move with her family to Joseph City and helping Aunt Ester open and run the Pacific Café. In
her 50's she created from scratch Everlasting Monument (Selling and installing headstones)
Later they owned Joseph City Storage for about 4 years.
She had open heart surgery 2 times; once in her early 30's and again in her early 70's and still
outlived 2 husbands!
She was married to Newel Turley for 26 years, and to Dale Rogers for 39 years.
She has been a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and has
served in many callings throughout her life including Relief Society President, Her and Dale
served in the Dilcon Branch on the Reservation for a few years.
She loved traveling with friends and her sisters to have fun adventures. She rode with Dale in his
semi-truck for years, and loved going on rides on Dale's Harley. Awesome cook, clean freak,
loved scrapbooking with her daughters. Mom had an infectious laugh and seemed to be loved by
all who knew her. Mom and Dale loved Hawaii and it was even rumored that they were
remarried on top of Diamond Head on Oahu.
