Donna Myers

April 7, 1936 — January 25, 2024

Donna May Daniels Myers peacefully graduated from mortality on January 25, 2024, at her home in Tempe, Arizona. She was affectionately known by her husband as "Pretty Girl" and by some family members as "Donna D." She was born on April 7, 1936, in American Falls, Idaho to William Lester Daniels and Ella Mae Claunch.

Donna's two most precious treasures were her family and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her greatest desire was to follow our Savior and be with her family forever. This desire was always shown in her words, actions, and teachings.

After graduation from Caldwell Idaho High School, Donna attended Brigham Young University graduating with an elementary education degree. She then taught 2nd and 3rd grade for several years.

In the summer of 1961, Stephen Robert Myers, came to Caldwell, Idaho to visit his parents who had re-located there while Stephen was serving as a missionary in Argentina, Chile, and Peru. After a church meeting one Sunday evening, they were introduced by a family friend and after a courtship of 2 and ½ months, they formed an eternal family by being married in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on August 30, 1961.

After several years of teaching school, Donna and Stephen wanted to start a family and Bradley was born. Later came Jeffrey, Stephanie, Tiffany, and Sidney, to complete their family of five beautiful children.

She was a "farm" girl at heart and was a master gardener with a vegetable garden and beautiful roses and Iris flowers surrounding the house. She learned these skills, at a young age, from her mother.

Donna was blessed with a serving heart as she was always happy serving the family, the church, and the community. Together with her husband, they served as missionaries for the church in Paraguay, South America and in Denver, Colorado. Upon returning as missionaries, they served together as workers for many years in the Mesa and Gilbert, Arizona temples. She loved serving and was always searching for opportunities to help others.

She endured many challenging years with Alzheimer's disease. Although this took so much from her, she seemed to always know when her husband came into the room. Her eyes would light up and she would follow his every move. (Of course, this was to keep him on the straight and narrow!!)

Donna is survived by her husband, Stephen, her children, and their spouses. Brad (Clarissa) of Tempe, AZ. Stephanie Mounteer (Brian) of Gilbert, AZ. Tiffany Christensen (Cannon) of Gilbert, AZ, and Sidney (Anna) of Las Vegas, NV. Seventeen grandchildren, two and ½ great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her dear son, Jeffrey, her parents' William Lester Daniels and Ella Mae Claunch, her brothers, Sterling Lester Daniels, and Ronald Lee Daniels.

We are so grateful for all who have helped us through this challenging time. Extended family, friends, members of the church, hospice, Tempe Friendly Support Group, and others.
