Donald Othor Scott

Donald O. Scott, 90 (1936-2026)

Don died on March 15, 2026, at his home in Pinetop, Arizona.

He lived in Arizona for 74 years, moving to Bagdad with his family when he was 16. He was born in Gorman, Texas, to Othor and Willie Faye (Sanders) Scott. Don and his wife, Carol (Couch), met in Bagdad and married in 1955. They resided in Bagdad, Mesa, Kingman, and Globe before relocating to Hon-dah in 1980 where they established D&C Trucking (logging) and fell in love with the White Mountains and the surrounding countryside and wildlife.

Carol preceded Don in death in 2014. He is survived by daughter Deborah Scott; brothers Dale Scott and David Scott; sisters-in-law Barbara Linn, Marj Fillman, Linda Scott, and Rosemarie Scott; son-in-law Mark Astor; nieces Teri Scott, Kathy Harris, Shawna Mullane, Rene Stanko, and Lori Linn; nephew Mike Scott; chosen-family Kevin and Lori Oeff and their children; and numerous kin and friends throughout the western states. His sister, Linda Kaye Scott (Trow), died in 1992.

A memorial will be held at a future date. Donations can be made to the Humane Society of the White Mountains or the charity of your choice.
