Donald Newell, 75, of Lakeside, Arizona passed away peacefully on May 28, 2025. Born on April 11, 1950, Donald lived a life filled with simple joys, strong family bonds, and a deep appreciation for the little things that made life worthwhile.
Donald was a man who enjoyed the quiet pleasures-he loved playing golf, a good game of cornhole, and the comforting routine of watching his favorite old westerns. From Gunsmoke to every John Wayne film ever made, he found joy in the timeless tales of grit, honor, and the American frontier. He was especially fond of reruns, never tired of rewatching the classics he held dear.
Though he looked forward to a long, relaxing retirement, Donald made the most of his days with his feet firmly planted on the ground-grounded in his values, steady in his love for his family, and present in the lives of those he cared for.
He was a devoted father and grandfather who found immense pride in his family. He is survived by his beloved son Donald J. Newell, II and daughter-in-law Kimberly, and his cherished grandchildren: Rose Newell, Kyreen Newell, and Estin Newell. Donald also leaves behind his loving life companion, Brandy Bishop, whose partnership and care brought comfort and joy in his later years.
Donald's life was shaped by strong family ties. He is also survived by his siblings: Larry Newell, Cheryl (Dave) Newell Beckweth, Ramond Newell, Ken (Michelle) Newell, Kathy (Andrew) Palmer Wisniewski Newell, and Mary Newell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald R. Newell and Doris J. McFadden Newell; his brothers, Donald Newell, Jr. and Gerald (Jerry) Newell; and an older sister, Little Girl Newell.
Donald's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, loved him, and shared in his laughter and stories. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his sense of humor, and the deep, abiding love he had for his family.
