Diana Butler

Diana Wilson Butler, beloved wife, mother, sister, and educator, passed away on July 3, 2025, in Lakeside, Arizona. She was born on May 18, 1947 in McNary, Arizona, to H.D. (Dick) Wilson and Martha McNary Wilson.

Diana is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Bill Butler; her daughter, Amanda Butler (Nathan); her brother, Douglas Wilson (Donna); and many cousins, as well as numerous former students and cherished friends who continued to consider Bill and Diana part of their family. Her cheerful spirit, kind heart, and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A lifelong resident of the White Mountains, Diana completed her early education in Pinetop and graduated from high school in McNary. She earned her degrees from the University of Arizona and began a distinguished career in education, teaching first at McNary Schools, before joining the Blue Ridge School District. Diana retired as the curriculum director and grants coordinator at Blue Ridge School District, having touched the lives of countless students and colleagues through her dedication and leadership.

Beyond her professional life, Diana was an active member of her community. She served on the boards of the Pinetop-Lakeside Sanitation District, the White Mountain Nature Center, and the Blue Ridge Schools, among other community organizations. Her commitment to public service reflected her deep love for the region and its people.

A Celebration of Diana's life will be announced and held at a later date.
