David Lon Schabatka passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on

October 23, 2026, following a long and difficult battle. He will be remembered for his

strength, kind heart, generous spirit, and deep love for his family.

David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He is

survived by his loving wife, Kristi Schabatka; his mother, two brothers and two sisters;

and a beautiful blended family of 13 children-his six, her six, and the one they shared

together. He also leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

David was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His

faith was an important part of his life, and he lived by the principle of loving and serving

others. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. David

found happiness in the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and spending time

enjoying God's creations. He also loved the open road and took great pride in driving a

semi-truck across the country. There was something special about being behind the

wheel, traveling the highways, and seeing the world along the way.

David loved his family. His life was filled with experiences, memories, challenges, and

moments that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him. He will be

deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Until we meet again
