David Frank Butler passed away October 22, 2025 and was born on April 15, 1950, to Peggy and Hal Butler. He was the youngest of three boys, growing up alongside his brothers, Gary and Greg.
Dave was married to his high school sweetheart, Jean Lancaster for 49 years, and together they raised five children-Jared, Willie, Ben, Kirstyn, and Lyndsie. He dedicated 29 years to the Show Low School District, where he served as a teacher, coach, and administrator, shaping the lives of countless students with his patience, humor, and steady guidance.
After Jean's passing in 2017, Dave found companionship again and married Carolyn (Carrie) Mangum, they had 8 kids, 22 grandkids, and 1 great great grandchild between them.
A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dave served faithfully in many capacities, including Scoutmaster, temple ordinance worker, young men's, several bishoprics, high council, and Bishop. His faith, kindness, and commitment to service were central to who he was.
Dave will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his quiet strength, and his deep integrity. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion that will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 10:00 am-12:00 noon at the Downtown Chapel in Show Low.
