Dahlia Mae Wanamaker

November 23, 1961 — July 11, 2022

November 23, 1961 – July 11, 2022

Dahlia Mae Wanamaker, 60, passed away unexpectedly on July 11th, 2022 at her home in Show Low, Arizona, after a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

Dahlia was born on November 23rd, 1961 in Nuremberg, Germany to military parents but spent the majority of her youth in Alabama. After marrying Michael Wanamaker, a military man, she started a family and traveled to many new locations, following Michael from each duty station to the next. Eventually Dahlia settled in Arizona where she raised her children into adulthood.

Dahlia was kind, loving, caring, and always put others first; she cherished her children and would do anything for them. She always said that her greatest achievement and her legacy were her children; she most of all enjoyed being a mother and a homemaker.

In her last years, Dahlia lived a simple life with her boyfriend where she enjoyed such things as crocheting, knitting, baking, cooking, bird-watching, and gardening.

Dahlia was preceded in death by her mother, father, and stepfather.

She is survived by her three children, Christopher, Kyle, and Taylor Wanamaker; a brother, Richard Hale; half-sister, Jennifer (Keltner) Turner; as well as long-time boyfriend Corydon Woodstock III. She also had two grandchildren who will always remember her.
