Catherine Ann Turner

December 5, 1935 - June 28, 2026

Catherine Ann "Cathy" Turner, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2026, at the age of 90.

Born in West Blocton, Alabama, to Huey and Argia "Jill" Holland, Cathy was, quite literally, a coal miner's daughter. After losing her father to Black Lung disease at the age of four, her family moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she learned the resilience, determination, and strength that would define her remarkable life.

Cathy faced extraordinary hardships, including escaping an abusive marriage while courageously raising three young children as a single mother. Through every trial, she refused to let bitterness define her. Instead, she chose faith, hope, hard work, and unconditional love, inspiring everyone who knew her with her unwavering optimism and warrior spirit.

Her life took a joyful turn when she met Ed Turner, the love of her life. They married in 1983 and later fulfilled a shared dream by opening Ed Turner Auto Repair in Lakeside, Arizona, where they faithfully served the White Mountain community for more than two decades. Cathy never met a stranger and believed family was created as much by love as by blood. One of her favorite sayings was, "If someone wants to be part of our family, we just make the circle bigger."

Above all, Cathy will be remembered for her deep faith in God, her compassionate heart, her joyful spirit, and her ability to encourage others, even during life's greatest challenges. She lived with grace, loved without condition, and left every person she met better for having known her.

Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in the assurance that Cathy is now whole, healed, and at peace in the presence of her Savior. Her life was a beautiful testimony to God's faithfulness, and her legacy of courage, kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith will continue to shine through the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched.

Cathy was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Beverly Anne Gries on January 28, 2009. Beverly, like her mother, cherished life to the fullest. She owned and operated The White Mountain Dance Academy. Cathy looked forward to the day they would be reunited in Heaven, and today we find comfort and joy in knowing that reunion has finally come.

Cathy is survived by her loving husband Ed Turner. Her son Stuart Anderson Jr, daughter and son-in-law Kim and Jeff Jensen. 2 step sons, Bryan and Chris Turner. As well as 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren

A private celebration of Cathy's life will be held at a later date.
