Carroll Lorraine (Lilly) Fish passed away unexpectedly on February 26, 2026 in Show Low, AZ. She was 88 years old.

Funeral services will be at 11 am on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Show Low Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There will be a viewing prior to the service from 9:30 am until 10:45. Interment will follow at the Lakeside Cemetery.

Lorraine was born on January 22, 1938 in McNary, AZ. She was the 1st girl and 2nd child born to Oren Bruce Lilly and Nellie Violet Slade. Two more sisters followed.

Lorraine was raised mostly in the White Mountains of Arizona, including McNary, Eagar, Maverick, and Lakeside. She also spent a few of her childhood years in Miami, Arizona.

While a junior at Lakeside High School, Lorraine married her sweetheart Merwyn Joe Fish…he was a senior. They eloped to Reserve, New Mexico to be married 2 weeks before school was out. They were married on May 14, 1955. After Merwyn’s graduation ceremony, they told their parents that they were married. Their parents weren’t as excited about it as they were!

Merwyn and Lorraine had been married about 3 months when they moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, for better employment. In March of 1960 their 2nd son Melvin passed away from illness not long before his 2nd birthday. In the summer of 1963 they traveled to St George, Utah, to be sealed in the St George Temple for time and all eternity. They remained in Flagstaff until the fall of 1964, when they got the chance to move to Show Low, where they have lived ever since.

Lorraine loved the outdoors. Many of her childhood summers were spent camping at Greer, Arizona, where they would camp the entire summer. She loved to fish, especially at Big Lake and at Roosevelt Lake, where her fishing was often interrupted by collecting driftwood. For many years after retirement they kept a travel trailer in Globe to be closer to Roosevelt Lake.

She loved her children and grandkids and would travel often to attend family activities. She was a talented seamstress and was good at crafting.

Lorraine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings. During much of her life she enjoyed singing in the ward choir.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Melvin Kayle; her brother, Bruce Farrell Lilly; and her sister, Lenora Mae Lilly Whiting.
