Carolyn Mae (McDaniel) Baldwin
October 27, 1945 - July 2, 2026
Carolyn Mae (McDaniel) Baldwin, 80, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, surrounded by her daughter and daughter-in-law. She was born Carolyn McDaniel on October 27, 1945, to Johnnie and Tillman McDaniel in Tucson, Arizona. She spent her childhood in Holbrook, Arizona, lived for a short time in Winslow, where she attended school, and later returned to Holbrook, where she raised her own family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Baldwin; her son, Richard McNabb; her parents, Johnnie and Tillman McDaniel; her brother, Wayne McDaniel; and her grandparents, Pauline and Ray Gannon.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey McNabb, Douglas McNabb and his wife, Claudia, and Michele Devora-McNabb and her wife, Lynn; her siblings, Tillman "Sonny" McDaniel and his wife, Mary, Donna Huff, and Michele Duran and her husband, Greg; her grandchildren, Richie McNabb and his wife, Alex, Rikki Munoz and her husband, Brian, Alicia McNabb and her husband, Michael McMonigal, and Johnathon Cullison; her great-granddaughters, Brookie McNabb and Emma McNabb; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Carolyn was a kind and gentle soul who lived with quiet strength, always showing patience, compassion, and grace. She was a natural caregiver who found her greatest joy in making sure everyone she loved was cared for in every way. Whether it was offering a listening ear, a comforting hug, a warm meal, or simply being there when someone needed her, caring for others came naturally to her. She was a devoted wife, loving daughter, sister, and mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her family was the center of her world, and there was nothing that brought her greater joy than spending time with those she loved.
Carolyn worked for many years at Safeway before retiring. She and her beloved husband, Larry, then moved to Washington to enjoy their retirement together. After Larry's passing, Carolyn returned to Lakeside, Arizona, where she lived for seven years before deciding to move back to Washington to live with her daughter, Michele Devora-McNabb, and daughter-in-law, Lynn, on Camano Island.
Those years together became one of life's greatest gifts. They shared countless conversations, laughter, holidays, and the simple joy of everyday life-moments that her daughter will treasure forever. During her time on Camano Island, Carolyn also formed many wonderful friendships that brought her great happiness and enriched her life.
Carolyn had a quiet way of making people feel loved. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, grace, and unconditional love that will continue to live on through everyone whose life she touched.
Graveside services will be July 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Holbrook Cemetery in Holbrook, AZ, followed by her celebration of life at the Heward House of Holbrook, 108 Crest View Dr., at 1:00 p.m.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Mom's love will always remain with us. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives, and she will be missed beyond words. Until we meet again, we will carry her love with us always.
