Carole Baumander

Carole Baumander passed peacefully into the presence of her loving God on March 4, 2021.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, family member and friend.

Carole was born on January 14, 1933 to Samuel and Lee Fuchs in Brooklyn, New York.  She was preceded in death by both parents and brother, Albert Fuchs.  Carole also lived in New Jersey and Florida before moving to Arizona in 1996.  For the past three years, she called Haven of Lakeside her home, where she loved and was loved by everyone.

Although Carole enjoyed a variety of employment opportunities, she preferred spending time with her family.  In retirement, Carole delighted in her twenty years of volunteer service at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low.

Carole was born and raised in the Jewish tradition, but she listened to her Creator’s call to continue her faith as a Catholic Christian.  She loved being a lector at St. Francis Church in Whiteriver and was also a parishioner of St. Mary of the Angels Parish in Pinetop.

Carole is survived by her children, Serina (Frank) Cata, Mindy (Stephen) Savoia, Gail Baumander, and Larry Baumandera.  Grandchildren, Jenifer (Robert) Bremen, Jason (Danielle) Cata, Pamela (Gabriel) Castellanos, Michael Savoia, Perpetua Baumander, Kilian Baumander, Bonaventure Baumander, Lazarus Baumander, and Augustine Baumander who already miss her fiercely.  The family will bear the responsibility to carry on Carol’s memory and legacy for great-grandchildren, Matthew Bremen, Jason Cata, Gabriella Cata, and Damien Castellanos.  Carole also leaves her sister, Phyllis Amato and many cousins, nieces, and nephews to remember and celebrate her life.

She will be dearly missed, but those who love her rejoice in knowing we will all meet again.  Carol Baumander will be remembered for her good nature, bright smile, and love for the Lord.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. Rosary will begin at 10:30 A.M. at the St. Mary of the Angels Church Hall in Pinetop, Arizona and followed by interment in Angels Rest Columbarium on the same grounds.
