In Loving Memory of Brett Ray Elwood

Brett Ray Elwood, 64, of Show Low, Arizona, passed away on August 14, 2026. He was born on August 3, 1962, to Archie Ray and Dorothy Elwood.

Brett lived a life defined by hard work, craftsmanship, faith, family, and a genuine love of the outdoors. With skilled hands, he built a career framing houses and working as a craftsman. He took pride in creating things that would last, but his greatest legacy was the love, laughter, and memories he shared with those around him. Brett had a generous spirit and a smile for everyone he met, making others feel welcome and valued.

Brett found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time in nature. The family camping and hunting trips they shared together created memories that will always be treasured. Above all, he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren, Luke and Cole. Playing with them brought him immense happiness, and the memories they created together will remain in the hearts of his family forever.

Brett's kindness, easygoing nature, and warm smile could brighten the day of anyone who crossed his path. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, especially the younger ones. Brett loved spending time with them, hanging out, laughing, and being part of their lives. To many of them, he wasn't just an uncle by family relation-he was simply Uncle Brett, a role he proudly embraced.

When Brett lived in Roosevelt, he loved attending the Baptist Church there, where his faith was an important part of his life. He especially loved receiving hugs at church and the warmth and fellowship they represented.

Brett is survived by his mother, Dorothy Elwood; his siblings, Rhonda (Steve) Eisenhour, Regina (Alan) Lundell, and Brad Elwood; his children, Christopher Elwood, Tyler Elwood, and Nicole (Coby) Crandell; his grandchildren, Luke and Cole Elwood; his cousins; and the many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Archie Ray Elwood, and his nephew, Darren Elwood.

Brett leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, laughter, love, and hugs. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on through his mother, siblings, children, grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

"Until we meet again, may you always find your way to the places where the fish are biting, the campfire is warm, and the people you love are gathered around."
