Barbara Rose Flores, age 72, was called home to be with her family in heaven on December 3, 2025. Barbara was born February 12, 1953 in Flagstaff, Arizona, daughter of Fred Edward Mcfall and Dorothy Anne Wirries.
Barbara was one of 11 children with 6 brothers and 4 sisters. She graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1971 and married Richard Gerald Flores in 1972. Richard came from a family of 10, 5 boys and 5 girls, so to say Barbara's life revolved around family would be an understatement. When the two families got together, it was quite a sight to see.
Barbara and Richard lived in Flagstaff with their two boys, Jeremy and Justin, until 1979, when they moved to Albuquerque for a short time, before moving to the White Mountains in 1980. Once in the White Mountains Barbara spent most of her time at a ballpark, whether it was the little league field, to watch the boys or the softball field to watch her husband, and then later the Blue Ridge High School baseball and football fields. She was a mom to more than just her two, as her boys grew up surrounded by the neighbor kids and teammates through their sporting years. To a lot of them, she was referred to as Mom, not Barb or Mrs. Flores. The door was always open and her house was always full of kids.
She became a grandmother in 1994 with the arrival of Chance and Chandler, son and daughter of Jeremy & Valeree (Reidhead). She and Richard were two of the best grandparents a kid could ask for. After Valeree's passing in 2005, Barbara became more of a mother figure for Chance and Chandler, helping their dad deal with those trying teenage years. All of this while managing a career and spending as much time as humanly possible with her own brothers and sisters and in-laws. She was loved by everyone who ever met her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her son Justin; husband, Richard; parents, Fred & Dorothy; younger brother Leo; older sisters, Carol and Dorothy. She is survived by her son Jeremy; grandchildren, Chance & Chandler; brothers, Bill, Ken, John, Bob, Larry; and sisters, Kathy Atha and Marilyn Short. Truly an angel among us in life and now an angel in heaven. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
The family is very appreciative of the overwhelming number of calls and messages, conveying the love and support we have already received. She was loved by many, Thank you all.
