AB Holden

May 15, 1957 — February 3, 2026

Avalon "AB" Holden, 68, of Hondah, Arizona, passed away on February 3, 2026, at Summit Medical Center in Show Low, Arizona. She was born on May 15, 1957, in Whiteriver, Arizona. Avalon spent time living in Phoenix and Hondah and made Hondah her home for more than 20 years, where she remained closely connected to her community.

Avalon was known for her kind heart, generous spirit, and quiet strength. Children naturally gravitated toward her warmth and gentle presence, and she had a gift for making people feel seen, accepted, and supported. She was resourceful and independent, known for her ingenuity, whether through creative work, grant writing, fixing things, or stepping in to help others however she could. Through all of life's challenges, she remained compassionate and resilient, never losing the softness that defined who she was.

Though her life took her to different places, Avalon always found ways to show up for those she cared about, offering encouragement, pride, and unconditional acceptance. Her love extended beyond traditional roles, and she cherished her chosen family deeply.

She is survived by her chosen daughter, Kimberly Nosie, and chosen granddaughter, Kimi Thompson; her siblings, Lucky (Karen) Holden, Samual (Waynella) Holden II, Joe Holden, Delando Ball, and Jennifer Holden; and her nieces and nephews, Michael (Adrianne) Holden, Michelle Holden, Christine Holden, Timothy Jones, Dusty Holden, Samuel Holden III, Fayrene Holden, Farrin (Evander) Holden, Kimberly Holden, Nicole Holden, Samantha Holden, Vernell Walker, Jeanell Paddlety, Nina Holden, Delando Ball Jr., Nolando Ball, Orlando Ball, Daniel Bitsuie, Logan Ball, Levi Ball, Jessica Ball, and Chiara Holden, along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Holden III and Agnes Holden; her sister, Winifred Holden; and her nephews, Ryndell Walker and Olajuwon Skidmore.

Avalon's body will be brought back to Seven Mile Miracle Church, 3120 Seven Mile Road, Whiteriver, Arizona, for a viewing at 8:00 a.m. and funeral services at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, with Pastor Kenneth Patten officiating.
