Adena Ray

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Adena C. Ray, who left us on May 1, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on November 27, 1938, in Saint David, Arizona, Adena lived a life that was full, vibrant, and brimming with love.

Known for her warmth and generosity, Adena had a unique gift for making everyone around her feel welcomed. She embodied the spirit of an "old soul," deeply rooted in old-school values that reflected her pioneering nature. Whether she was donning one of her many hats as a dedicated bus driver or exploring her artistic side with a passion for theatrical make-up in college, Adena approached every endeavor with determination and grace.

A mother of five sons-Robert, DonRay, Roland, Reed, and Russell-and one daughter, Denice, she was the heart of her family. Adena, cherished her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, finding joy in every moment shared with them. Her selfless nature was evident in the way she always stocked her pantry, ready to share a meal and good company with anyone who walked through her doors.

Her life was a testament to kindness and resilience, and she will be remembered for her directness and stubborn spirit, traits that endeared her to those who knew and loved her.

Adena was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served a mission in Raliegh North Carolina. She loved serving everyone she came into contact with and also served in many capacities in the Church.
