Irene Bates Lewis

Irene Bates Lewis died during the midnight hour of Saturday, February 24, 2018, at her home in Holbrook, Navajo County, Arizona following a lengthy illness.  She was 84 years old.  Irene was born on a Wednesday, January 10, 1934, in Winslow, Arizona to her parents, the late Wilford Woodruff and Lilly (Gardner) Bates.Irene will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother.  Her legacy continues through her 7 children, 29 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Lewis.The funeral service for Irene Bates Lewis will begin 10:00 A.M., March 3, 2018, at the Holbrook Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Holbrook where the public visitation will begin 1 hour prior.  The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Holbrook Cemetery.
